Biometric Information Notice & Consent
1. Notice to Users (Illinois BIPA, Texas CUBI, and GDPR Art. 9)
Under certain jurisdictions (including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act (CUBI), and European Union GDPR Article 9), mathematical models derived from facial features may constitute "biometric identifiers" or "biometric information."
2. Purpose of Collection
Facemesh collects and processes facial geometry solely to provide you with your requested, personalized aesthetic analysis:
- Calculating eye tilt angle (canthal tilt)
- Measuring left-to-right facial symmetry ratios
- Evaluating proportional fifths of the facial plane
Facemesh never uses biometric data for facial recognition, identity verification, cross-site surveillance, advertising profiling, or sale to data brokers.
3. Storage & Retention Schedule
- Local computation: Mesh landmarks (478 facial points) are extracted in-memory in your local web browser and are immediately discarded after computing high-level summary ratios. Raw landmark meshes are never transmitted to our backend.
- Retention limit: Any temporary image files retained for payment fulfillment are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and permanently deleted immediately upon report completion, or within 24 hours at the absolute latest.
- No permanent biometric archive: We do not maintain any biometric database.
4. Your Consent
By ticking the consent box prior to scanning, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- You are uploading your own photo and voluntarily consent to the collection, geometric analysis, and temporary processing of your facial measurements as described herein.
